| Originally, our client who had a young family and a period home with only two bedrooms and small living areas needed more space.
We achieved this by the addition of a large, open-plan combination family room, meals area and kitchen. A fourth bedroom and ensuite to the main bedroom was also added.
The inclusion of large windows allowed more natural light to enter the interior and enabled the owners to keep a watchful eye on their young children playing in the back yard and on the rear deck area.
As the family needs changed, our clients returned to us four years later - again needing more room. This time a second storey was designed creating three extra bedrooms plus a bathroom, a powder room and a generous rumpus room providing a separate upstairs area for the children.
Our first addition to this character filled home extended its street appeal to the rear of the house and won the award for best extension/renovation in 2000.
The second design has further enhanced the appealing character of the home whilst catering to the needs of a growing family - with a minimum disturbance to the layout of the downstairs area.
